"BACK TO BASICS"

In 2009, Long Painting established as the Safety Department annual mantra the phrase "Back to Basics." The priorities established to support this movement are:

  1. Employee Safety
  2. Regulatory Compliance
  3. Operational Efficiencies.
Employees are focused on team safety and are reminded that there is never any task that needs to be performed that is worth being injured. To that end, they are empowered to make field decisions that err on the side of safety until such time as the risk is eliminated. Superintendents and foremen receive extensive regulatory training to help them to better understand the nature of all applicable regulations and to better equip them to follow all federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. Concurrently, the Safety Department works with operations to identify safer methods of performing tasks that may afford a higher level of operational efficiency.

Back to Basics is more than just a phrase - it is the means to reaching a zero incident workplace.
